Bryansk Machine-Building Plant (BMZ) has completed the execution of the contract concluded in December 2024 with BaltTransService, one of the key railway operators in the field of oil transportation. Under the agreement, the plant supplied the customer with ten 2TE25KM main freight diesel locomotives.
The first three locomotives were delivered in the first half of 2025, the remaining seven in the autumn. The new locomotives will allow BaltTransService to modernize its rolling stock fleet and increase operational efficiency on routes.
2TE25KM locomotives have been mass-produced since 2014 and are fully equipped with Russian components. The model is included in the register of industrial products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. Equipped with two diesel engines with a capacity of 2650 kW each (produced by the Kolomna Plant, which is part of TMH-Energeticheskiye Resheniya), the locomotives are capable of hauling trains weighing up to 6400 tons.
The 2TE25KM series is actively used by both Russian and foreign carriers. Among the operators are Russian Railways, Kuzbassrazrezugol, SUEK, Severstal, as well as railway companies in Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Users note the high reliability of the equipment, adaptation to extreme climatic conditions, ergonomic cabs and ease of maintenance due to the well-thought-out arrangement of components.
