A major Russian airline, S7, has ordered more than 100 Tu-214 aircraft from the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of PJSC Tupolev). This was announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev.
The company S7, one of the major players, has ordered more than 100 Tu-214 aircraft.
It is worth mentioning that to increase the production volume of the Tu-214, KAZ is modernizing and increasing its production capacity. The certification of modern Russian systems for new serial machines is also ongoing.
Aviation experts have warned that to reach serial production volumes, the production of the Tu-214 needs not only to be modernized, but also actually redesigned. For now, the production rates are disappointing — in 2025, Kazan will produce only one Tu-214, although initially they planned to assemble three.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a Rostec commission with Serdyukov and UAC visited the production of the PD-8 engine.
