The new Russian aircraft MC-21-310 in its basic version better meets market demands than its foreign competitors. This was stated by the executive director of the AviaPort agency, Oleg Panteleev.
He noted that medium-range aircraft are the most demanded aircraft in the world. Currently, the European Airbus and the American Boeing with the А320neo and 737 Max models, respectively, feel better than the rest in the niche. However, the Chinese С919 is hot on their heels.
They are also competitors of the MC-21. From the point of view of size, probably, the basic model of the MC-21-310 is more in line with expectations of the market than the basic models of competitors, in particular the C919.
Panteleev added that the MC-21 received the largest diameter fuselage. These characteristics make it possible to make the passenger cabin width larger than that of any Western competitor.
The MC-21 implemented all the most advanced developments in radio electronics and avionics. The aircraft turned out to be highly automated, the load on the crew is moderate, therefore, from the point of view of comfort, not only for passengers, but also for the crew, the aircraft turned out to be outstanding.
Meanwhile, already the second prototype of the MC-21-310 with Russian PD-14 engines has taken to the sky. However, the question remained in the five foreign systems on board, which have not yet been import-substituted.
