A criminal case has been opened in the Kamchatka Territory regarding the violation of aircraft operation rules after a rough landing of a Yak-40 aircraft at Tigil airfield on September 1. This was reported by the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office.
On September 1 of this year, at approximately 12:00 (local time), a Yak-40 aircraft, operating flight Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky — Tigil, sustained damage upon landing at Tigil airfield in the Tigil district of Kamchatka due to a rough landing caused by exceeding the maximum permissible landing speed.
The damage from the incident amounted to 1 million rubles. The inspection revealed violations of mandatory requirements for the operation of air transport and the procedure for notifying the incident. Information about the incident was not reported to the control authorities.
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MTU) of Rostransnadzor for the Far Eastern Federal District also found violations in the training of flight personnel, ensuring the flight safety management system, and inadequate control over personnel performing maintenance.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the service life of Yak-40 aircraft is planned to be extended to 60 years.
