Rosaviatsiya has determined the certification schedule for key domestic projects in the field of civil aviation. According to the agency, the LMS-901 "Baikal" light multi-purpose aircraft is planned to be certified by December 2026, the TVRS-44 "Ladoga" regional aircraft by 2029, and the joint Russian-Belarusian LMS-192 "Osvey" between 2027 and 2029.
ЛМС-901 «Байкал»
The development of the Ural Works of Civil Aviation (УЗГА) is designed to replace the legendary An-2 "Kukuruznik". The aircraft is designed for 9 passengers, has a cruising speed of up to 300 km/h, and a flight range of up to 3000 km with a payload of up to 2 tons.
As part of the primary operation program in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a contract has already been concluded for 50 aircraft with the "Aerokhimflot" alliance. At an early stage, the "Baikals" will be involved in forestry and agricultural work, which will allow working out the design and operational features without passenger risks.
ТВРС-44 «Ладога»
The regional turboprop aircraft with a capacity of up to 44 passengers is designed to replace the aging An-24, An-26, and Yak-40. The first flight prototype is already undergoing final assembly at УЗГА. Tests will begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, and certification is expected in 2029.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. "Ladoga" will become a key element of the regional aviation revival program, providing communication between small cities and large aviation hubs.
ЛМС-192 «Освей»
This 19-seat aircraft is being created in cooperation between Russia and Belarus — УЗГА and 558 Aviation Repair Plant. It will receive two VK-800SM turboprop engines and an onboard complex from the KRET concern.
The "Osvey" will feature a convertible cabin (for passengers, cargo, or rescue operations) and three types of chassis — wheeled, ski, or float, which will make it versatile for different regions of Russia. Certification is expected in 2027–2029.
In addition, work is underway on other domestic projects: "Tango", "Borey", SP-30, Yak-118 aircraft, as well as modernized Mi-34 and "Ansat-M" helicopters.
All these projects are supervised within the framework of the federal special project "Civil Aviation", the purpose of which is to accelerate the certification and serial production of domestic equipment that completely replaces foreign analogues.
Russia plans to have a full line of domestically developed aircraft by the end of the decade — from light "Baikals" to regional "Ladogas" and "Osveys", which will ensure domestic air transportation without dependence on imported machines.
