A fully equipped Tu-214, located on the territory of the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ) named after Gorbunov, has become a unique platform where young engineers conduct applied scientific research, master advanced technologies, and implement real engineering projects. This was reported by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
One of the Tu-214s was decided to be made into a world-class educational and scientific laboratory. The initiative was the result of a partnership between KAZ, Tupolev, UAC, and KNITU-KAI.
The idea is simple but ambitious — to modernize a real aircraft into a multifunctional educational space where technologies can be tested on an existing aviation platform.
Specialized research zones have been deployed on board the Tu-214 and in the associated laboratories, each of which operates on a full cycle — from design and modeling to manufacturing, testing, and preparation for implementation, the corporation noted.
Information appeared in the media that the production program for the new Tu-214 at the Kazan Aviation Plant is being hampered by the success of the MS-21-310, despite serious funding back in 2022.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia is completing the construction of 7 new aircraft, 3 helicopters, and 6 aircraft engines.
