Specialists from PJSC "Yakovlev" (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec) conducted safety tests on the removal of drainable flammable liquids on the MC-21-310 aircraft with domestically produced systems.
Systems with various flammable liquids (FL) were installed on board the aircraft, which can support combustion in the event of an emergency if they enter other compartments. To prevent the risk of fire, drainage holes were provided in each compartment where FL could theoretically accumulate.
"Yakovlev" reminded that in accordance with certification requirements, it is necessary to assess the safety of FL drainage.
Drainage tests were carried out using special coloring liquids with a density similar to aviation fuel. The purpose of the tests is to confirm that the leaking FL does not penetrate into the engine air intakes and other compartments.
Flight tests have been completed, and materials have been obtained for the formation of certification reports, which will be reviewed at the certification center.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia will invest 765 billion rubles in the project "Production of airplanes and helicopters".
