There is no "quick fix" in aviation: the reason for the delay in the delivery of MC-21 and SJ-100 is named

Aircraft will enter mass production in 2026

The Russian aircraft industry will begin producing MC-21-310, SJ-100 and Il-114-300 in 2026. However, there is no guarantee of this, because all three machines are at the stage of certification tests, said aviation expert, Editor-in-chief of Avia Pro portal Roman Gusarov.

MC-21 and SJ-100 aircraft

According to him, it is unknown what kind of shortcomings will appear at the stage of certification tests with a large number of flight hours. At the same time, it cannot be said that new aircraft in Russia are being developed "for a long time", similar terms are accepted in general in world practice, Gusarov noted.

Yes, there were promises to do everything "quickly", in "a year or two". But in aviation, "quick" usually works poorly. There are certain stages of creating aviation equipment. And, as a rule, it takes about 10 years to create a completely new aircraft.
Roman Gusarov, aviation expert

Gusarov recalled that Russia had to simultaneously recreate an entire industry for the production of components and assemblies. Before that, only the Soviet Union was so self-sufficient.

The import substitution program for SJ-100 started in 2019, that is, it lasts six years. The MC-21, which was already ready for mass production, was redesigned in three years. Therefore, the aircraft may be released in circulation as early as 2026, the industry specialist concluded.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the production program of MC-21, SJ-100 and Tu-214 aircraft will be revised in Russia.
