The import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft with tail number 97004 has completed its first flight from the airfield in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The aircraft is equipped with Russian systems and units, including PD-8 engines manufactured by UEC. This was reported by the manufacturer's press service.
The first aircraft built using serial production technologies has taken to the air. The certification process is still ongoing, but the aircraft was created in serial production, in the target configuration planned for deliveries.
The Rostec State Corporation also reported that 24 serial aircraft are already in production at varying degrees of readiness.
The first flight lasted about an hour and was performed by the crew of the Flight Test Complex of FRS, which included test pilots Dmitry Savonin and Leonid Chikunov, as well as the leading flight test engineer Vladislav Tyurin.
Previously, the aircraft developer (Branch "Regional Aircraft" of PJSC "Yakovlev") together with the aviation authorities and Rosaviatsiya carried out work to certify the modified SJ-100 airframe and its manufacturing technologies.
At the SJ-100 production facility, a reserve has been created for the manufacture of serial aircraft, the delivery of which will be possible after the completion of certification tests and the approval of their results by Rosaviatsiya.
