In the new light aircraft LMS-901 "Baikal" there are no complex systems, so pilots will be able to independently prepare it for flight, said test pilot of the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) Alexey Yazyнин.
According to him, the crew of "Baikal" is only two people, and quite can cope with the service without outside help due to the simplicity of the aircraft design.
The crew of two pilots can prepare the "Baikal" for re-departure, inspect and refuel. Therefore, complex systems are not designed in the aircraft.
The test pilot emphasized the long flight range and high cruising speed of the "Baikal". The aircraft will be able to fly to the most remote corners of Russia. Serial production of "Baikal" is planned at the end of 2026.
