Il-96-300 is one of the most reliable wide-body aircraft in the world. The aerial giant also performs the mission of aircraft No. 1 — ensuring the flights of the President of the Russian Federation, Rostec stated.
The aircraft was developed under the leadership of aircraft designer Genrikh Novozhilov, at that time the general designer of the Ilyushin Design Bureau. Serial production and maintenance of the Il-96-300 is currently taking place at the enterprise of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec).
When designing the machine, special attention was paid to safety. The aircraft has multi-channel redundant systems, which automatically disconnect or switch faulty channels.
The aircraft is a true marathon runner among domestic airliners and can fly across Russia, covering a distance of more than 10 thousand kilometers without refueling. The heart of the aircraft is the economical and environmentally friendly engine PS-90A.
Il-96-300 is a symbol of reliability, engineering school and traditions of domestic aircraft construction, Rostec concluded.
