The prospective MC-21 passenger aircraft has risen in price by 65% over the past two years. This is stated in an information letter about prices for domestic aircraft with deliveries in 2026, sent out by the Department of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transport to airlines and aviation enterprises.
It states that the MC-21 aircraft has risen in price to 7.6 billion rubles in two years. At the same time, in the summer of 2023, the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK), excluding subsidies from the National Welfare Fund (NWF), estimated the aircraft at 4.3–4.6 billion rubles.
The cost of the AN-2 replacement, the "Baikal", has also increased, to 315–320 million rubles.
Rostec explained that as the production of aircraft increases, the price will begin to decrease, and significantly so.
A program is being developed with airlines and relevant departments to reduce the cost of aircraft, which will yield results in the future up to 2030. Even now, when comparing prices for foreign and our aircraft, the difference is insignificant.
