The first photos of the second prototype of the LMS-901 "Baikal" aircraft developed by the "Ural Civil Aviation Plant" (UZGA) have appeared online.
The plane made its first flight back in 2024, but is still unpainted.
Currently, tests of both built flight prototypes of the "Baikal" have been suspended and the aircraft have been sent for revision to install Russian VK-800SM engine and AV-901 propeller.
Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Yuri Trutnev stated that the situation with the "Baikal" project is at a dead end, so production is not expected. According to him, the aircraft developers initially made a mistake in calculating the lift of the wing and the length of the runway, the aircraft will require a runway twice as long as originally предполагалось.
Earlier www1.ru сообщал, that Russia in aviation will be able to do with its own developments: they did not copy, but made it better.
