The prototype of the MC-21 medium-range aircraft, equipped with new Russian systems and components, has taken to the skies for the first time. The Rostec State Corporation has revealed the onboard equipment of the aircraft.
The aircraft received a Russian complex of onboard radio-electronic equipment, including computers, switches, navigation systems and radio communication equipment, a domestic auxiliary power unit, air conditioning and pressure regulation systems, lighting equipment, and aircraft system control panels.
Domestic components are included in the power supply system, hydraulic system, and landing gear.
According to Vadim Badekha, head of the United Aircraft Corporation, today's flight "opens factory refinement tests of the MC-21 in a new, Russian guise."
Our plans include flying to Zhukovsky to perform flights under the certification test program. In parallel, we continue to work on the fully Russian MC-21, which is now in the final assembly shop and will join the flights later.
MC-21 is a new generation passenger medium-range aircraft with a capacity of 163 to 211 passengers. The airliner is assembled at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. The first flight took place on May 28, 2017, and on December 15, 2020, the aircraft made its first flight with the Russian PD-14 engine.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that "Yakovlev" showed the full video of the first flight of the fully import-substituted SJ-100.
