UEC Showed Unique Footage from Production: Manual Polishing of Engine Blades

Specialists are perfecting the shape of the aircraft engine compressor blades

Polishing and "glossing" of aircraft engine blades are some of the most labor-intensive and critical activities in the production of power plants. The United Engine Corporation (UEC) showed the work of specialists from the Naro-Fominsk Machine-Building Plant in a video.

Engineers meticulously refine the size and shape of the aircraft engine compressor blades to perfection. In the final processing, the blade becomes absolutely smooth - "glossy."

This work largely determines their quality and, as a consequence, the reliability of the entire aircraft engine.
