Two Newest "Superjets" SJ-100 Have Already Taken to the Skies: Another One Will Join Soon

The third aircraft will be fully import-substituted

Two aircraft have already been involved in the flight tests of the new Russian SJ-100 airliner: one with Russian-French SaM-146 engines and domestic onboard systems, and the second with Russian PD-8 engines under the wing and partially replaced equipment.

A third "Superjet" will join the tests in the near future, it will be fully import-substituted, noted in Rostec. This approach will speed up the testing process.

In total, about 40 systems and units are subject to replacement within the project. The work is being carried out by a large cooperation of enterprises led by our UAC. The PD-8 engine is a development of UEC, which is also part of Rostec.

The head of Rosaviatsiya, Dmitry Yadrov, following the results of the first flight of the Superjet aircraft with domestic PD-8 engines, said that the introduction into widespread operation of the import-substituted machine will lead to an increase in the intensity of air traffic in Russia.

The "Superjet" in its new guise is extremely necessary to solve the strategic tasks that the country's leadership has set for the entire air transport. This is an increase in the air mobility of our citizens and an increase in the intensity of air traffic in Russia by one and a half times by 2030
