The first flights of import-substituted MC-21 aircraft with PD-14 engines and SJ-100 aircraft with PD-8 engines are expected in the first half of 2025, according to the Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov.
Certification tests are planned to begin after that.
Currently, 13 serial MC-21 aircraft are in production, 9 airframes are ready for system installation, and 4 more are in the assembly stage. For the SJ-100, we have 20 serial aircraft in various stages of readiness, including 10 already in the process of final assembly, equipment, and system installation.
According to statements by the Head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, serial production of MC-21 aircraft is scheduled to begin in 2026. The start of production of import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft is also scheduled for 2026.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian aircraft manufacturers have advanced in the import substitution of components for MC-21 and SJ-100 aircraft.
