Work on the site for the production of the light-engine multipurpose "Baikal" aircraft in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk Territory, will be completed by the end of 2025.
Construction of the facilities for the production of the light-engine aircraft began in January 2024 on the instructions of President Vladimir Putin as part of a long-term development plan for Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
Currently, the pouring of foundations continues, and builders are completing the zero-cycle work on the formation of the land plot. The total area of structures and buildings will be almost 10.4 thousand m². The complex will produce up to 20 aircraft per year.
The developer of the "Baikal" is the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA), and the production will be carried out by UZGA's subsidiary, LLC "SpetsAviaTekhnika," a resident of the Khabarovsk advanced development territory.
The "Baikal" is designed to carry up to 9 passengers or 2 tons of cargo over a distance of up to 3000 km and can be operated on unpaved runways. The aircraft will be equipped with a domestic VK-800 engine.
