The ice-class LNG carrier "Aleksey Kosygin" of Arc7 class, designed for transporting liquefied natural gas (LNG), has returned to the "Zvezda" shipbuilding complex in the Primorsky Territory after sea trials. This is evidenced by ship tracking data.
"Aleksey Kosygin" left Bolshoy Kamen Bay on December 25, 2024. The new tanker's destination was listed as sea trials.
"Aleksey Kosygin" is the lead vessel in a series of tankers for the "Arctic LNG-2" project, built by order of "Sovcomflot". ARC 7 ice-class vessels are designed for LNG transportation and are capable of operating in harsh climatic conditions, overcoming ice up to 2 m thick.
The tanker is propelled by three unique azimuth thrusters, the production of which is localized in Bolshoy Kamen at the VRK "Sapphire" enterprise.
