One of the most important advantages of Russian Su-57 fighters is the Belka multi-mode airborne radar system. In addition to the main module of the front hemisphere, it is also equipped with side-looking panels N036B-1-01L and N036B-1-01B.
The main module of the front hemisphere is capable of tracking quasi-ballistic missiles moving at hypersonic speeds of about 6,000 km/h and low-altitude cruise missiles such as Storm Shadow, providing target designation for R-77-1 and R-37M air-to-air missiles. It also provides detection of targets such as the F-35A — about 170 — 180 km.
The main feature of these side-looking panels is the ability to conduct radar reconnaissance of enemy surface targets. Then, all detected objects can be hit by Kh-59MK2 missiles from the internal fuselage suspension units, or Kh-69 missiles from the external underwing pylons AKU-58.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia will supply Su-35S abroad: negotiations on the most dangerous fighters in the world have already started.
