At the facilities of PJSC "Il" — Aviastar, the assembly of fuselage sections of this transport aircraft has been improved at all stages. Now, according to PJSC "UAC", detailed assembly takes only 27 days instead of 34, and assembly on the stocks takes 29 days instead of 41.
The period of off-stock assembly has also been reduced: it is now seven days shorter. To do this, the production process is built in a stream, working on the principle of a conveyor.
The flow assembly is divided into sequential stages: detailed assembly, large-unit assembly, stock assembly and off-stock assembly.
The workspace has become more comfortable – additional air connection points have been installed for aircraft builders, albums with the necessary technical and technological information are placed directly on the stocks, which significantly reduces unnecessary movement of workers and waiting. Racks of paints and varnishes are also placed near each slipway. For safety, additional lighting is installed on each slipway.
The elements of the fuselage sections at the same time "move" forward along the production chain, which makes it easy to control and plan the work.
Earlier in late 2023, it became known about the plans of PJSC "Il" – Aviastar to increase the production of Il-76MD-90A transporters fourfold through automation and improved production technologies. The company then noted that in the next two years, at least 2,500 new production jobs would be required for this result.
