Tupolev JSC has for the first time received Approval of the Main Change to the Type Certificate of the Tu-204-300 aircraft, which made it possible to increase the service life of gas inflation system cylinders for Air Cruisers Company emergency slides. The work was carried out without the involvement of a foreign manufacturer, the UAC press service reported.
The company needed to extend the assigned service life of imported aviation components on the Tu-204, Tu-214. Together with Rosaviatsiya, Tupolev determined the procedure for modifying the component.
During the inspection of the technical condition and tests, the supervisory aviation authority found that the cylinders have a safety margin. They will be able to ensure the safe operation of emergency slides for another 15 years.
