Kazan Aviation Plant Seeks Lathe Operator for 50-Year-Old Machines After Order for a Hundred Tu-214s

A specialist with at least one year of experience is offered from 97 thousand rubles per month

Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of Tupolev JSC) has opened a vacancy for a 3rd-grade lathe operator. Information about this appeared on one of the job search services.

The employee will work on Soviet 16K20 and 1K62 machines developed in the 1950s-1970s. Responsibilities include turning multi-stage rotating bodies with an accuracy of up to 0.01 mm, thread cutting, drilling, counterboring, and calibration.

The salary for such a specialist is from 97 thousand rubles per month for a 5/2 work schedule of 8 hours. KAZ also promised voluntary medical insurance and compensation for meals in the canteen.

In February, United Aircraft Corporation (OAK), GTLK, and S7 Group signed a memorandum on the delivery of 100 Tu-214 aircraft, starting in 2029.

The Head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, noted that KAZ would focus on the production of new modern airliners. In the civilian sector, KAZ builds Tu-214s, and there are plans to increase production to 20 units per year.
