At the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant (KnAAZ), artificial intelligence technologies are used in the production of the Russian SJ-100. The neural network monitors employees to ensure they do not enter dangerous areas.
Special red lines have been drawn on the floor of the production shop. They mark areas where workers are not allowed to enter during certain operations. Cameras and a computer vision system monitor compliance with these boundaries.
Workers have also been given augmented reality glasses that display digital instructions before their eyes. For example, when working with electrical wiring, there is no longer a need to constantly look at a separate monitor — the diagram of necessary operations is displayed directly in the field of view.
Modern technologies are also used in the assembly of PD-8 engines for the SJ-100. Rostec explained that machine vision performs visual inspection of the engine at all stages of assembly and monitors quality.
The target performance indicators for the new PD-8 engine were initially set higher than those of the French-Russian SaM146 power plant, explained aviation auditor Oleg Panteleev to "Pervy Tekhnichesky".
