The Russian automotive brand Jeland presented a prototype of its new flagship crossover J8. The car's premiere took place in St. Petersburg at the Peter and Paul Fortress during an event dedicated to the development of Russian-Chinese cooperation.

The Jeland J8 became the main car of this part of the exhibition. The crossover is announced to have a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 249 horsepower, all-wheel drive with torque distribution between the wheels, and adaptive suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers.

The crossover is richly equipped. On the outside, it features 20-inch wheels, LED optics, hidden door handles, and a “floating roof” effect. The interior features a curved dual screen with a diagonal of 24.6 inches on an octa-core processor and a head-up display on the windshield, one of the largest in its class.

Safety is ensured by ten airbags, including a central and knee airbag for the driver, 540-degree panoramic view, and a set of intelligent assistants. Comfort is complemented by a 14-speaker audio system, 50-watt wireless charging, a built-in dash cam, a cabin fragrance system, and an extended winter package.

Before starting production, the cars undergo a series of tests considering Russian road and climatic conditions. Serial production of Jeland cars is organized at the AGR plant in Shushary.

In addition to the flagship J8, two more brand models were shown at the exhibition – the J7 and J6 crossovers.

The Jeland J7 has a ground clearance of 196 mm, and the trunk volume with folded rear seats is 1349 liters. The all-wheel drive J6 is equipped with six driving modes, its ground clearance is 176 mm, and the trunk capacity reaches 1180 liters.

In addition to cars, visitors were presented with developments in robotics. The humanoid robot “Aynet” hosted the concert program and communicated with guests in Russian, while robot dogs performed commands.

Among the competitors of the Jeland J8 are cars such as Volga K50, GAC GS8, Moskvich M90, and Tenet T8.
