The Novolakskaya Wind Power Plant (WPP) with a total installed capacity of 300 MW has been commissioned in Dagestan. After the launch of the second stage, the facility began operating at full capacity, becoming the largest operational wind farm in Russia.

The second stage of the plant includes 59 wind turbines with a total capacity of 147.5 MW. Together with the already operating first stage, they ensured the achievement of the project capacity of 300 MW.

According to Grigory Nazarov, CEO of Rosatom Renewable Energy, the launch of the plant marked the state corporation's entry into a new region and simultaneously became the largest wind energy project in the country. He also noted that all main components of the wind farm are manufactured by enterprises within the Rosatom group. According to him, this facility became the first for the company with a record high level of equipment localization.

The commissioning of the Novolakskaya WPP expands Russia's capacity for electricity generation from renewable sources and increases the contribution of wind generation to the energy supply of the country's regions.
