JSC "WindOGK-3", part of the renewable energy division of the Rosatom State Corporation, has received permission from the administration of the Turkmen municipal district of the Stavropol Territory for the construction of the Simonovskaya wind farm (WPP). The station is planned to include 20 wind turbines with a capacity of 2.5 MW each, with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
The permit was issued after a positive conclusion of the examination of the project documentation and engineering surveys. The verification confirmed that the project complies with the requirements of technical regulations, environmental, sanitary and epidemiological and fire regulations, as well as urban planning standards of the Russian Federation.
The Stavropol Territory is already a key region for Rosatom in wind energy. Seven wind farms with a total capacity of more than 805 MW have been commissioned in the region, including Kochubeevskaya (210 MW), Kuzminskaya (160 MW) and Trunovskaya (95 MW).
Rosatom's wind energy division provides a full cycle of projects - from design to service. The Atommash plant in Volgodonsk produces equipment for wind turbines with a capacity of 2.5 MW, the composite division supplies blades, the level of equipment localization reaches 85%. In total, about 1.2 GW of wind power capacity is already in operation, and it is planned to reach over 2 GW by 2028, which will make Rosatom one of the leaders in the Russian renewable energy market.
The implementation of wind energy projects supports the national goals of the Russian government to improve the quality of life, develop infrastructure and accessibility of resources, and Rosatom enterprises are actively involved in these initiatives.
