The "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" party proposed to review the number of automatic traffic violation enforcement cameras. Party leader Sergey Mironov initiated the dismantling of some complexes and the transfer of private control systems to state ownership.

According to him, a full audit of video surveillance cameras is necessary to determine which complexes truly help improve traffic safety and which are installed unnecessarily.

Mironov noted that in some cases, cameras are placed at short distances from each other, causing drivers to receive several consecutive fines for minor violations. In his opinion, such an approach requires additional control.

The discussion was prompted by statistics on the operation of automatic complexes: in 2025, cameras recorded more than 214 million traffic violations.

The deputy also proposed changing the system where some equipment is installed and maintained by private operators under agreements with the state. He believes that such companies may be interested in expanding the number of cameras to increase the number of fines issued.

The initiative involves checking all existing complexes and the possible transfer of private cameras under state control. According to the author of the proposal, this should make the violation enforcement system more transparent and focused on safety, rather than on the number of fines.
