The Indian military demonstrated the impressive capabilities of the modernized T-72 "Ajeya" main battle tank. As IDRW writes, in the published video, the vehicle confidently tows a convoy consisting of a heavy TATA LPS 4018 truck and a trailer with another T-72 "Ajeya" weighing about 43 tons. The total weight of the towed load is estimated at 90–100 tons.

Such tests confirm the effectiveness of the T-72 tank modernization program, which forms the backbone of India's armored forces. A key improvement is the installation of a new 1000 hp engine, the purchase of which was agreed upon in March 2025 under a $248 million contract with Russia. This power plant replaces the old 780 hp engine, significantly increasing the tank's mobility, acceleration, and cross-country capability.

The ability to successfully tow a nearly 100-ton load clearly demonstrates the increased power and reliability of the updated transmission in extreme conditions. Although specialized armored recovery vehicles exist in the army for evacuating damaged equipment, main battle tanks are often used to tow stuck or damaged equipment during combat operations or redeployment.
