Element Group and the "Autoelectronics and Telematics" association have identified the main problems in the transition to Russian electronics. The main factors are low demand, long delivery times, and high prices, the Group's press service told "Pervy Tekhnichesky".
For most equipment manufacturers, the demand for domestic components does not exceed 20-40 thousand units per year. As industry representatives note, suppliers are already ready for serial deliveries for 15-25 years, but orders from machine builders are still few.
At the same time, state support is expanding: amendments to localization rules are expected from mid-July, and a new decree shortens the approval period for changes by 4-5 months. However, this does not yet stimulate businesses – components are expensive, and long delivery times disrupt production plans. Element's enterprises – Mikron, NIIET, NIIMA Progress – have presented lines of microchips and controllers for cars, but the issue comes down to economics.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade had already tightened localization requirements: from 2026, car manufacturers may lose points and state support if they do not use Russian electronics.
