The number of mobile device infections in Russia increased by 70% year-on-year in the first half of the year, Megafon reported. One of the main threats remains the banking Android Trojan Mamont – it accounts for 12–15% of all incidents.
A significant portion of infections is still associated with users' actions – clicking on phishing links in messengers and social networks, as well as installing applications from unverified sources. We see that attackers are constantly improving their tools.
Viruses are increasingly hidden under free access to ChatGPT, Yandex Music, VPN services, and modifications for Minecraft. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also warned about the Drama RAT Trojan, which can be hidden in files with names like "Declaration" or "Invoice for payment."
Do not download APKs from random chats, ignore operator warnings, or connect to open Wi-Fi unnecessarily. Otherwise, a free application could cost you access to your bank and accounts.
