It will take several months to train flight crews to operate the import-substituted MC-21-310 liners, so training must begin now. This was stated by former Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 pilot Andrey Litvinov.

He noted that it is only possible to form an opinion about an aircraft after six months of active operation. Litvinov admitted that he would also take the controls of the MC-21.

It will always be interesting to study a new aircraft. I talked to civil aircraft pilots, many of them say that they won't go for the "Superjet", but the MC-21 is interesting. There will be those who want to, the idea is not bad, and it needs to be done. The only question is what they will achieve in the end. There is no answer to that yet.

Litvinov added that he personally retrained from the A320 to the Boeing 737; the entire process took two months on the simulator.

In principle, you can start training crews right now. But for this, the aircraft must be fully ready, all characteristics must be known: landing, take-off, all nuances. The crew studies what is available.

"Pervy Tekhnichesky" compared the MC-21-310 and Airbus A320neo. The domestic aircraft was inferior in terms of fuel efficiency and range.

Test pilot of PAO "Yakovlev" Oleg Mutovin stated that Russian aircraft manufacturers have surpassed the whole world in competencies in creating the MC-21 aircraft. It was built entirely with domestic components – no other country can boast of this.
