"Silovye Mashiny" Restores USSR-Era Capacities After 30 Years

Production Increased to 6 Gigawatts Per Year

The Russian power engineering company "Silovye Mashiny" has fully restored technological competencies lost after the collapse of the USSR. This was announced by CEO Alexey Podkolzin.

According to him, during the Soviet period, the enterprise produced more than 10 gigawatts of power equipment annually. However, in the mid-2010s, volumes sharply decreased almost fivefold – to about 2 gigawatts.

We have grown almost four to five times in capacity, restoring the volumes that were previously achieved. We continue to invest in development.

Currently, the enterprise is capable of producing up to 5–6 gigawatts of equipment per year, which almost brings it back to historical loading levels.

A few days ago, "Silovye Mashiny" completed the production of key components for Russia's first F-class gas turbine GTE-65. The power unit will be sent to Permskaya CHPP-14.
