Il-114-300 Production in India Stalled by Unresolved Issue

Manturov stated that the aircraft needs time to begin commercial flights

There are no concrete decisions yet on the start of production of the regional Il-114-300 in India; the aircraft still needs to confirm its characteristics in commercial operation. This was stated by Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.

It is not yet appropriate to say that we have already found a concrete solution for the start of production there. It will take time for the aircraft to begin commercial flights.
Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation

In January, the Il-114-300 participated in an international exhibition in India, where OAK signed a contract for the supply of the first six aircraft with local company Flamingo Aerospace.

The Ministry of Transport promised that the Il-114-300 would complete certification in the coming months, but did not rule out that the process could ultimately extend until the end of 2026. What exactly the hitch is regarding the deadlines, the department did not explain.

At the same time, even active pilots doubt the effectiveness of the airliner due to the low placement of the TV7-117ST-01 engines.
