Export Ban, No Shortage: What's Happening with Aviation Kerosene in Russia

The Russian Ministry of Transport reported a stable situation with aviation fuel in the country

Russia has temporarily restricted the export of aviation kerosene to stabilize the domestic market, while the Ministry of Transport states there is no fuel shortage for airlines. The decision is accompanied by assurances from the regulator regarding sufficient resources and the priority of domestic supplies.

At the moment, there is no shortage. In any case, in any situation, we proceed from the interests of our airlines.
Andrey Nikitin, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation

Earlier, the Russian government introduced a temporary ban on the export of aviation kerosene, which will be in effect until November 30, 2026. The measure is aimed at maintaining a stable fuel situation within the country.

Exceptions are provided for batches cleared before the ban came into force, as well as for supplies under intergovernmental agreements and fuel in the technological tanks of aircraft in transit. The industry is also discussing a possible expansion of restrictions, including the export of diesel fuel and kerosene.
