UZGA does not have resources for "Baikal" aircraft production

Aviation expert Alexey Zakharov: significant "commotion" is happening around the plant

The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) does not have sufficient resources for the production of LMS-901 "Baikal" aircraft. This was stated by aviation expert Alexey Zakharov.

He recalled that the enterprise directly entered aircraft manufacturing only in 2018 when it received an order for the L-410. However, Zakharov clarified, everything was limited to "relabeling," rather than systematic work.

To summarize: there is a plant that understands nothing about aircraft development and lacks the human resources for it. At the same time, there was no surplus of available specialists in the country. But UZGA suddenly received orders to create many projects.

Oleg Smirnov, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Commission of the Public Council of Rostransnadzor, called for an investigation into where billions allocated for the development of LMS-901 went.

Also, personnel reshuffles continue at UZGA; Oleg Dotsenko became the new director of the plant on May 15. He replaced Igor Ozar, who had been working since September 2025.
