Biometric boarding on flights between Moscow and St. Petersburg to launch on June 1 for Aeroflot Shuttle program participants

Deputy Prime Minister Grigorenko: The use of digital services is completely voluntary

The service for pre-flight passenger verification using biometrics during aircraft boarding will be launched on June 1 on "Aeroflot Shuttle" program flights between Moscow and St. Petersburg. This was announced by the office of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko.

The government representative emphasized that the service is ready for launch. It can be used by passengers at Pulkovo and Sheremetyevo.

Grigorenko stressed that biometrics will reduce pre-flight procedures by 25-30%. At the same time, passengers can board the flight using their passport.

How to use the service

Passengers need to register their biometric data in advance in the Unified Biometric System (EBS). This can be done at a bank or at registration points in Pulkovo and Sheremetyevo. When purchasing an airline ticket, consent to the processing of personal data must be provided.

The pilot project using biometrics for boarding will last until April 1, 2027. Citizens are still required to present their passport when entering the transport security zone.
