The Russian nuclear-powered cruiser Project 11442M "Orlan" "Admiral Nakhimov" has surpassed the prospective Trump-class battleship, which is being considered for the US Navy. This conclusion was reached by American military analysts from the National Security Journal after comparing the capabilities of the two projects.

The publication's experts noted that after modernization, the "Admiral Nakhimov" will be able to carry up to 80 missiles for various purposes, including "Kalibr", "Oniks", and hypersonic "Tsirkon" missiles. In addition, the ship received a powerful air defense system with multiple levels of protection and modern electronic warfare equipment.

The American Trump project, according to observers, implies a smaller missile arsenal – about 40–48 universal launch cells. At the same time, the ship itself currently exists only as a concept and has not undergone real tests.

Analysts also compared the sizes of the ships. The length of the "Admiral Nakhimov" is about 252 meters, and its full displacement exceeds 26 thousand tons. Thanks to its nuclear power plant, the Russian cruiser can operate for months without refueling and perform tasks over long distances.

Separately, experts emphasized the difference in strike power. The Russian ship can simultaneously attack sea, air, and coastal targets using a wide range of weapons. According to American experts, it is the combination of a heavy missile arsenal, powerful air defense, and high autonomy that made the "Admiral Nakhimov" a more dangerous combat platform compared to the prospective Trump-class ship.
