Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) has suspended work on the TVRS-44 Ladoga aircraft project. Despite this, the aircraft will still make its first flight by the end of this year, announced Sergey Merenkov, chief designer of transport aircraft at the enterprise.
According to him, the aircraft itself and all scientific and technical groundwork have been decided to be transferred to the Russian Ministry of Defence for the development of a ramp cargo version or one with a side door.
But in the interests of the Ministry of Defence. We are allowed to perform the first flight, so we plan to complete and launch the aircraft in 2026.
The TVRS-44 Ladoga was developed to replace the An-24, An-26, and Yak-40 aircraft. Its basic capacity is 44 passengers.
Recall that the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Civil Aviation states that Russia will build 105 TVRS-44 Ladoga aircraft by 2030.
