Rostov-based Azimuth Airlines plans to purchase more than 30 new Superjet aircraft and 20 MC-21-310s. This was announced by Mikhail Tikhonov, General Director of AO "Regional Development Corporation".
Currently, Azimuth operates 19 Superjet 100 aircraft in a non-import-substituted version. The airline is following a development program, within which it intends to update its fleet in cooperation with OAK.
There are preliminary signed protocols stating that approximately 31 new, fully modernized Superjet aircraft will be purchased by us within the next 7 years. There is also an intention to acquire 20 MC-21 aircraft.
In addition, Azimuth is already building a hangar for the maintenance of the new SJ-100 and MC-21-310 liners.
Earlier, Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov stated that Red Wings and Rossiya Airlines are being considered as possible first operators of the new SJ-100s with PD-8.
