Supreme Court Found No Expert Opinions in the Case of Banning Publications on "YaPlakal"

The materials have already been reviewed, and a new hearing is scheduled for May 8 at the Moscow City Court

The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation reviewed the content on the "YaPlakal" resource, but found no expert opinions on the basis of which a decision to block the portal's materials could have been made. Details were disclosed by a TASS source in the judicial system.

According to the agency's interlocutor, the Supreme Court established that the materials do not contain an expert opinion that could serve as a basis for banning publications. The source also confirmed that the case will be heard on May 8 at the Moscow City Court.

Earlier, the Chertanovsky Court of Moscow recognized information posted on the "YaPlakal" internet resource as prohibited for distribution in Russia.

The court's decision stated that the resource contains materials with statements that can be qualified as humiliating human dignity, as well as aimed at discrimination and insulting people based on national and racial characteristics.

The press service of Roskomnadzor clarified to TASS that the "YaPlakal" website was not included in the specialized register. The reason is that the court decision did not specify the particular materials that were deemed prohibited.
