First buyers of new SJ-100s with PD-8 engines revealed

Alikhanov: Red Wings, Azimuth, and "Rossiya" may become the first Superjet operators

Anton Alikhanov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, named the airlines that could be the first to operate the import-substituted SJ-100s with PD-8 engines. Red Wings, Azimuth, and Rossiya Airlines are being considered as potential first operators.

The ministry set a key condition: experience with the previous version of the SJ-100 with foreign systems, to make it easier for them to "fly in" the new type.

Alikhanov reminded that "teething problems" appear at the beginning of any aircraft's life cycle, so it is important to establish high-quality after-sales service.

So that the aircraft spends the maximum amount of time in the air, and not standing on the ground waiting for appropriate spare parts.

Earlier, Alikhanov stated that the SJ-100 would need up to four years to overcome the "teething problems" that arise immediately after the start of serial operation.
