MC-21 and SJ-100 face difficult 4 years with "teething problems"

Anton Alikhanov: the treatment is happening to properly fly the aircraft

New Russian aircraft will need up to four years to overcome "teething problems" that arise immediately after the start of serial operation. This was stated by the head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov.

He clarified that any aircraft is practically a living organism that is improved throughout its entire service life. Initially, problems may arise that were not taken into account during the design of the airliner.

The treatment of "teething problems" is happening to properly fly the aircraft. It takes 3-4 years to truly identify everything.

Key models for the Russian aviation industry are the MC-21, SJ-100, and Il-114-300. Certification for all three aircraft is expected by the end of 2026.

Prior to this, Alikhanov claimed that the new import-substituted SJ-100 cabin had already surpassed foreign counterparts in terms of comfort.
