PAO "Yakovlev" continues test flights of the new MC-21-310 airliner as part of its certification. The publication "Aviation of Russia" reported on which onboard systems were tested by aerospace engineers.
Aircraft 73057, during flights on April 21 and 29, underwent an evaluation of the main and backup braking systems' operation during rejected takeoffs. The evaluation was conducted under the condition of not engaging thrust reversers.
Then, on April 14, 15, 17, and 20, "Yakovlev" conducted flights to evaluate in-flight engine restarts. During April 22, 23, 24, and 30, engineers assessed the fuel system's operation under various failures, including gravity feeding of engines.
On another test aircraft, tail number 73055, in-flight engine restarts were evaluated using various methods during flights on April 15, 21, and 22.
Former General Director of Irkutsk Aviation Plant Alexander Veprev stated about problems with components for the MC-21-310. At the same time, he urged to do everything necessary to deliver four airliners by the end of 2026.
