Rostec created batteries that are bulletproof and frost-resistant

The absence of liquid electrolyte allows the power source to operate even with a through-hole in the casing

Specialists of the state corporation "Rostec", with the participation of the holding "RT-Proektnye Tekhnologii" and NPP "Impuls", have import-substituted power sources capable of operating after a through-hole in the casing, at temperatures from -50 °C to +50 °C, and in conditions of strong vibration.

The key difference of the new batteries is the absence of liquid electrolyte. Instead, a special fiberglass matrix is used, which retains the active substance even with mechanical damage. Thanks to this, the power source remains operational when hit by bullets, shrapnel, or casing deformation, and can also be installed in any spatial position without loss of efficiency.

The development has undergone comprehensive testing in extreme conditions: from Arctic frosts to overheating inside armored capsules, during prolonged shaking on tracked vehicles, and arbitrary orientation during installation.

The service life of the products is about 10 years, and production lines are ready to produce up to two million units annually without dependence on foreign components.
