Russia offered India two versions of the Su-57 at once: one controls drones

IDRW: Russia may also provide access to combat aircraft software

Russia has offered India two versions of the Su-57 fighter jet – a classic strike version and a two-seat aircraft for controlling drones. This was reported by IDRW.

The Su-57M1 version is a deeply updated modification with improved flight performance and reduced visibility.

Changes to the airframe design have also been announced: an expanded lifting body and a flatter fuselage profile. The solution reduces radar visibility and increases internal weapon bays.

The Su-57M1 will receive a new generation AL-51F-1 ("Product 30") engine, which provides higher thrust and prolonged supersonic cruising flight without afterburner.

The second option is a two-seat version in the MUM-T concept. It involves an operator who controls drones and coordinates their actions in combat.

According to IDRW, this version of the Su-57 is considered an element of the transition to next-generation fighters, where the manned aircraft acts as a command post for a group of drones.

Separately, Russia offered India access to the source code of the onboard systems. This will allow the integration of national developments – the Virupaksha AESA radar, Astra and BrahMos-NG missiles.
