Production of trains for the high-speed rail line has reached 65% readiness: the complex buildings have stretched to 420 meters

Equipment is being installed and rails are being laid in the assembly shops in Verkhnyaya Pyshma

The complex for producing high-speed trainsets at the Ural Locomotives plant is two-thirds complete. Five facilities with a total area of 67 thousand square meters are being built on a turnkey basis, the press service of the general contractor Sinara-Development reported.

The longest building, intended for assembling body components, reaches 420 meters. There, the foundations for installing technological equipment have already been fully handed over, ventilation and fire suppression systems are being installed, and the final flooring is being poured. In the neighboring 378-meter-long shop, intended for commissioning electric trains, railway tracks are being laid and electrical networks are being installed simultaneously. At the design center site, monolithic works will be completed by May 1, after which the facility will begin to be fitted out with engineering systems.

The project is being implemented for a specific task: the production of rolling stock for the Moscow–St. Petersburg high-speed rail line. The start of construction of the high-speed rail line and the production facilities in 2024 was given by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Now the pace allows the general contractor to state that the schedule is being maintained.

The site in Verkhnyaya Pyshma is becoming a key link in the import substitution chain for high-speed railway engineering. There is less and less time left before the launch of the high-speed rail line, and having its own assembly complex eliminates the need to purchase trainsets abroad. After reaching its design capacity, the shops will ensure a steady supply of trains for the growing passenger flow between the two capitals.
