Flight tests of the modernized Yak-130M will last until 2028, and the first flight is scheduled for June 2026. This was announced by Vasily Prutkovsky, Managing Director of PJSC Yakovlev.
The Yak-130M tests will last a year and a half, they are scheduled until 2028.
Earlier it became known that Yakovlev would prepare three experimental aircraft by the end of 2027.
The Yak-130M prototype was first presented at the Army-2024 exhibition. The combat trainer aircraft will receive a guided weapons system at the level of a light attack aircraft.
Rostec noted that the modernization will allow the use of air-to-air missiles and guided aerial bombs. This expands the capabilities of the aircraft, including for combating drones.
