LMS-901 "Baikal" is already better than An-2: kerosene can be found in any corner of Russia

The new aircraft uses cheaper fuel than the "Kukuruznik"

The key advantage of the new regional aircraft LMS-901 "Baikal" over the Soviet An-2 is the availability of fuel. This was stated by the head of the aviation production alliance "Aerokhitflot" Klim Galiullin.

According to him, "Baikal" flies on aviation kerosene, that is, cheap and more accessible - it is available throughout the country. "Annushka" fies on aviation gasoline, which is more expensive.

We literally have to be cunning to deliver expensive aviation gasoline to the regions of Siberia and the Far East. It literally becomes gold. Fuel for "Baikal" is available throughout Russia and it is cheaper.

Note that the "Baikal" is equipped with a turboprop engine VK-800SM, and all power plants of this type operate on kerosene grades TC-1 or RT. For local airlines, the cost of a flight hour will become much cheaper.

In January 2026, it became known that UZGA received an order for the first hundred LMS-901 "Baikal" aircraft. We are talking about leasing deliveries with state support.
