The import-substituted medium-range aircraft MC-21-310 has arrived in the Arkhangelsk region to conduct tests in natural icing conditions. The journey from Zhukovsky to Talagi Airport took 1 hour 24 minutes, and the aircraft covered about 1300 km.
PJSC Yakovlev clarified that during the flight, the crew also assessed the performance of the aircraft's inertial systems when performing an open route.
In the sky over the coast of the White Sea, the MC-21-310 will "catch" ice in the altitude range of 1000–4000 meters.
For special tests, the aircraft will be equipped with special equipment, including sensors and video recording cameras. Specialists from Yakovlev and experts from certification centers are participating in the tests.
Earlier, "The First Technical" calculated that Yakovlev will have to build 28.5 MC-21-310 aircraft per year in order to supply Aeroflot with the planned 200 aircraft over seven years.
